I create every piece at Jill Marie Pottery and specialize in making things for your table and around your home.
A favorite mug that you pull out every morning to enjoy your coffee, that special serving bowl or platter you set on your dinner table for a family meal or a big gathering. A beautiful vase that you fill all summer long with your favorite flowers. I love making these pieces so they can be enjoyed and to make everyday special.
My home studios are located in Laingsburg, Mi and Key West, FL. My pieces are handmade on the pottery wheel, hand built, or a combination of both.
I learned the steps to making pottery by taking classes at our local pottery guild and have had many wonderful teachers throughout the years. Practice, practice, practice is what makes you better, which is what I did when I opened my first home pottery studio in 2020.

I have learned to enjoy all of the steps in the process of making each piece. My favorite step is glazing - I stay awake in bed sometimes thinking of glaze combinations for different pieces.
I use Stoneware clay, which stands the test of time and holds up to everyday use (which is how I feel pottery should be enjoyed)!
My time spent outside of the studio consists of making memories with my family, friends, and pets.

hot off of
the dishes that we use to serve our favorite meals are just as special as the food itself - my customer provided a picture of her newly renovated kitchen and the freedom to create a custom set to compliment it. In the end, I created a completely customized combination of 5 glazes to deliver this beautiful blue green collection of bowls.
